Earning $LIA · 2 min read
Mining
In short Tap Mine and a session runs for 8 hours, earning 5 LIA an hour before boosts, even with the app closed. Your streak, your team and your steps make it faster, and so can a short video.
How a session works
- Tap Mine. Your session starts at once.
- Let it run. It earns 5 LIA every hour for 8 hours, whether Lia is open or not.
- Come back. When it ends, tap Mine again to start the next one.
Nothing heavy happens on your phone. Mining in Lia is not proof of work: your session is tracked on Lia's side, so it uses no real computing power, almost no data and no battery. "Mining" is the name for showing up and keeping a session running.
Your speed
Every session starts at the base rate of 5 LIA an hour. Boosts add to it, each up to its own limit, and the app shows exactly which ones you have and what each one adds.
| Boost | How you get it | Today's setting |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome | New members, for their first 3 days | Twice the speed |
| Streak | Each day of your check-in streak | +5% a day, up to +50% |
| Team | Each friend you invited who is mining now | +5% a friend, up to +50% |
| Strides | Each 1,000 steps you walked today | +2%, up to +20% |
| Video | A short video while you mine | +10% for an hour or +25% for two, up to 6 a day |
Note The base rate, session length and boosts are settings Lia Labs can change as the community grows. Changes are announced in the app before they happen, and they never take away $LIA you have already earned.
Why sessions
A session asks for a moment of your attention a few times a day, and nothing more. It rewards people who keep coming back, which is exactly who $LIA is meant for, while staying fair to people who can't be on their phone all day: a session you started this morning keeps earning while you work.
Mining and the supply
The $LIA you mine is counted in the app during the mining phase and sent to your own wallet in the airdrop. Every reward in Lia, and the airdrop itself, comes from the community share: 500,000,000 $LIA, half of the whole supply. See Supply and allocation.
